Thursday, January 25



Agenda Message: Return 2 books (TWAS and Spelling) on Monday. Write in your T.W.A.S. (about your weekend).

Writing and Social Studies: We've been busy writing about our community that we have built. We can't wait to record on video about what we wrote and show it off during Student Led Interviews in March.


Math: We've been working hard with counting by 1's forward and backward from 20. As well, counting by 2's, 5's, 10's . We been looking on how we can show we understand a math problem, problem as well. We represent the math problem with a picture that shows subtraction or addition and use the correct math sign (+, -, =) for our math sentence.  Here are a few pics of some work.





Art: Today we painted conifers (spruce trees for example). I connected this to the fact that during our Beaver presentation we learned that beavers do not chop down these trees for their dens.  For our painting goals we learned about background, middle ground and foreground. As well, we talked about different shades of green and how to attain those shades (different amounts of water). As well we had to look for spaces between trees and the height of trees. It included a lot of concepts. These tree paintings will be posted in the hallway for next week.

VOLUNTEERS FOR SKATING (EACH DAY 1:45 - 3:10) - NOT ALL YELLOW VOLUNTEER CONSENTS HAVE BEEN SIGNED YET. PLEASE SIGN THEM ON MONDAY AND RETURN ON TUESDAY. IF ANY OTHER PARENTS WANT TO VOLUNTEER PLEASE EMAIL ME BY SUNDAY AND I CAN SEND FORM HOME TO YOU ON MONDAY.
