Learning To Write

We are beginning to learn how to write our own work. We are learning how to sound out words and how to recognize if a word is misspelled and may need some work.

When kids write they already know a lot of sounds of letters and already know some high-freuecy words like: and, the, is, I
We are looking for: recalling some words, sounding out words, beginning with a capital letter at the first of the sentence, including the period, spaces between words. After writing, the student can go back and identify which words they believe they may need help with the spelling. The habit of going back later to check spelling will help to increase their speed of writing and getting their ideas across.

Here is our example of our morning message today.
